Next week begins the Season of Lent. On Ash Wednesday we will have services at 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Both services will include Eucharist and the imposition of ashes. Attending an Ash Wednesday service is a wonderful way to begin the Lenten season.
We will also be having a Lent Festival on Sunday the 27th after the 10:30 service. This is an opportunity to learn a bit more about the Season of Lent, visit several different stations to get ideas for making Lent special and receive a Lent-in-a- Bag kit to take home. Adult and children's bags will be available for children, grandchildren and great-grands.
The Women’s Retreat is next Thursday and Friday.
Last, but certainly not least, we will be having a Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras potluck on Tuesday (the 1st) at 6:00 pm. Barbara Menard will be making her famous shrimp creole for all. You are welcome to bring a dish to pass and your own plate and utensils for the meal (to keep cleanup to a minimum). The potluck begins at 6:00 pm on Tuesday.
Lots of great things are happening next week and every week at St. Michael’s!
Peace,
Bill+
