Love Sanibel Businesses Back Initiative
St. Michael and All Angels Church has launched an initiative to support our island businesses and services and asks everyone to join in to make a meaningful impact. Every week, Love Sanibel Businesses Back (LSB) organizers will highlight a different set of businesses where a mix and mingle event will be held. Residents, visitors, city and nonprofit leaders are all encouraged not only to show up the day of these events, but to deliberately support our businesses on an on-going basis, particularly until we get our island back up to scale.
While the primary objective of this campaign is to tangibly support businesses, a secondary goal is to simply have events that encourage everyone on the island to continue to gather, support one another and to foster our sense of community and belonging. This initiative is an extension of St. Michael’s overall mission which as Fr. Bill Van Oss explained, “is to encourage one another in our daily lives to act in ways that show everyone they are loved, equally valued and belong.”
