Updated Mask Wearing Policy
by Fr. Bill Van Oss
Dear Friends,
Beginning today, we are moving from highly recommending masks to requiring masks be worn over the mouth and nose in all indoors areas at St. Michael’s. In accordance with CDC guidelines, all persons, including those fully vaccinated, need to mask indoors to maximize protection and prevent possibly spreading COVID-19 in areas of substantial or high transmission.
Also, with the increase in Omnicron infections; please adhere to the following:
- If you are not feeling well, please do not come to church.
- If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and have been at church, please contact Wendy Warner, our parish nurse immediately so we can track and alert others that have been exposed.
- If you are fully vaccinated and have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, the CDC’s new guidelines are that you "wear a mask around others for ten days, test on day five, if possible, and if you develop symptoms, get a test and stay home." (cdc.gov) If you are unvaccinated or not boosted, there are different guidelines.
Please contact me or Wendy Warner if you have any questions. I appreciate your understanding and willingness to take the steps necessary to keep yourself and others safe.
Peace,
Bill+
