Next Wednesday, June 1st is “Islands Night” at Hammond Stadium. The Mighty Mussels will take on the Tampa Tarpons beginning at 7:00 pm. Before that there will be a parade featuring businesses, organizations and churches including St. Michaels! Come out and enjoy the parade and the game. Gates open at 6:00 pm and the parade starts at 6:15 pm. Tickets are available in the gallery, and we will sit together at the stadium. Hope to see you there.
In this weekend’s Gospel reading, Jesus prays for his disciples “that they may be one” as Jesus is one with his Father. This unity is rooted in unconditional love. I liked this reflection from one of the brothers of the Society of St. John the Evangelist. I hope you like it too:
Adoration
Adoration is a prayer of loving presence. Adoration is love, like close friends who honestly share the joys and concerns of their hearts, who explore questions and seek perspective together, who long to be in each other’s presence. Jesus adored God whom he called Father, and Jesus adored his disciples whom he called friends. Gaze at God and see God already gazing at you. God adores you.
